Widely known as one of the best bakeries in Paris, Poilâne uses stone-ground flour and wood-fired ovens to create masterpiece sourdough breads, croissants and pastries.
Poilâne enjoys a long and rich history in Paris, beginning with the Saint-Germain-des-Prés location in 1932. The Poilâne owner later met Salvador Dali in 1969, making bread sculptures for the artist, and even an entire room made of bread. The Poilâne business has been expanded through the generations, and is currently directed by the Harvard-business-school educated grand-daughter of the original owner. The business now succeeds with shops across Paris and London.
Be sure to check out the Poilâne online shopping site for outstanding cookie tins, American holiday gift sets, cookbooks and more. Shipping to the United States is available.
