Metro Stop: Anvers, line 2

Hours: 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM daily

The Sacré-Coeur Basilica dome is the second tallest point in Paris.  It provides amazing views, including a view of its’ slightly taller brother the Eiffel Tower.

Located in the hilly Montmarte area of Paris, the Sacré-Coeur Basilica takes some climbing to get to.  Or, visitors can opt to take the funicular – an escalator-like cable car – to the base of the Basilica grounds.

The building itself stays a chalky white color year after year, thanks to the Château-Landon stone used for construction.

Sacré-Coeur is a great architectural and historical visit at any time, but the Christmas and Easter seasons offer a particularly meaningful experience.

  1. Beautiful shot of the crowd. I love how the colors of the outfits and the blue sky contrast with the Basilica. I got close to the Basilica when I was there but did not get to this point- maybe I will when I go back.
